On Tuesday, 10th November 2009, his words were published in the North West Evening Mail. This is what he stated:
“The entire community is united in its support for the development of new reactors on the land adjacent to Sellafield but there is little, if any, support for the development of Kirksanton and Braystones.
“The people of these villages have made their views clear and I do not believe that these sites will be developed.
“I have made this view clear and will continue to do so.”
Jamie Reed was also interviewed on Radio Cumbria by Mike Parr and he expressed the same view that only land around Sellafield would be developed and that Kirksanton and Braystones would not be.
So far, Jamie Reed has proved to be one of the few M.P’s who has not been lining his pockets by working the system and claiming expenses to which he is not morally entitled. He is not living in an expensive house in a fashionable area of London, so his second home allowance in eminently reasonable.
• Do we trust his informed opinion?
• Is he right in saying that Braystones and Kirksanton will not be developed?
If you believe that Jamie Reed is correct in what he is saying, then please tell the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
