Few trees thrive on the coastal strip due to wind exposure. Trees in the small wood (left distance) have been graded in height by the wind. Some trees are also dying because of the rising water table hereabouts.
It has been suggested that landscaping by planting trees could help improve the visual impact of the plant. We don’t believe this would be realistically possible, especially from the direction of the Lake District National Park.
